Egypt’s Sanitary Ware Exports To France Jumped 137% In The First Four Months
In the first four months of 2022, Egypt’s exports of architectural and sanitary ceramics were $110 million, down 6.8% year-on-year, according to the Egyptian Building Materials Import and Export Association. This compares with $118 million in the same period in 2021.
Sanitary ceramics increased by 3% year-on-year
Sanitary ware exports increased to $ 53 million, an increase of 3%. Egypt exports to 80 countries. The top five destination countries accounted for 62.5% of the total, reaching $33.13 million, an increase of 2.8%.
The top country was Germany, where exports reached $14.907 million, down 13 percent year-on-year, accounting for 28.1 percent of total exports. This was followed by the United Kingdom, which increased by 2 percent to $7.517 million. Exports to Italy rose 48% to $4.125 million. Exports to France jumped 137 percent to $364,000. And exports to Turkey are 2.887 million U.S. dollars.
Architectural Ceramics Down 13 Percent
Exports of architectural ceramics fell 13 percent to $57 million, compared with $66 million in 2021.
The top five destination countries accounted for 72 percent of the total, amounting to $41.069 million.
Libya ranked first. Its exports fell to $18.94 million, down 6 percent year-over-year, and accounted for 33.2 percent of total exports. Exports to Jordan fell 28 percent to $8.037 million, while exports to Yemen also fell 26 percent to $5.366 million. Exports to Saudi Arabia were $4.654 million. Exports to Pakistan increased by 388% to $4.072 million.
